Live & Learn Solomon Islands (LLSI) is a locally registered non‑government organisation and part of the wider Live & Learn Environmental Education Asia‑Pacific network. LLSI works closely with communities, schools, government partners, and development agencies to deliver impactful programs in climate change adaptation, health, education, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), gender equality, and community resilience.
As part of the UNICEF‑supported Climate‑Smart Health, Education, Nutrition & WASH Services Project, Live & Learn Solomon Islands is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to support project implementation through safe, efficient, and professional transport and logistical support.
YOU ARE IDEAL FOR THIS ROLE IF:
- You hold a valid driver’s licence appropriate for the type of vehicle required
- You have previous experience as a driver, preferably with an NGO, development project, or government organisation
- You have a strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations in Solomon Islands
- You are reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours when required
- You demonstrate honesty, professionalism, and respect for organisational policies
- You are able to work well with project staff, partners, and community members

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A DAILY BASIS:
In this role, you will provide critical logistical and transport support to ensure the effective and timely implementation of project activities.
Key Accountabilities include:
Logistical & Project Support
- Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation support for project staff and activities
- Assist the Project Manager with transportation arrangements, accommodation logistics, communications, and travel needs for staff
- Support the buying, collecting, and transporting of project materials and equipment to communities
Vehicle Management & Safety
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the vehicle at all times
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date driver’s logbooks, documenting all vehicle movements
- Monitor vehicle mileage and ensure routine servicing is conducted on time
- Track insurance expiry dates and support timely renewal of vehicle insurance
- Ensure compliance with government traffic laws for yourself and all passengers
Policies, Compliance & Conduct
- Strictly comply with Live & Learn’s Good Practice Manual and Fleet Management Policy
- Uphold child safeguarding, fraud control, and organisational code of conduct requirements
- Carry out any other duties as directed by the Project Manager, immediate supervisor, Finance Manager, or Country Manager
