Draftsman

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Draftsman to support our Fire Protection M&E projects and Addition & Alteration (A&A) works. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings for fire protection systems (e.g., sprinkler, hosereel, fire alarm, dry/wet riser systems).

• Develop and amend drawings for M&E and A&A projects in compliance with project specifications and SCDF requirements.

• Liaise with project engineers, consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors to resolve drawing discrepancies.

• Prepare drawings for authority submissions and ensure timely revisions when required.

• Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings.

• Conduct site visits when necessary to verify dimensions and update as-built drawings.

• Assist project teams with technical drawing support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of drafting experience in M&E projects, preferably in fire protection systems.

• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D). Knowledge of BIM/Revit will be an added advantage.

• Familiar with SCDF submission procedures and fire protection system design standards in Singapore.

• Able to read and interpret construction and technical drawings.

• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and technical competency.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
