What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

The Water/Wastewater Operator regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of 3 Water and 1 Wastewater Treatment Facility as directed by the Project Manager and Lead Operator.   • On-call, incentives offer $200 for the week you are on call (this is on a rotation).
  • Compensation for being on call is 2hrs minimum paid for each call out received.
  • Annual Project bonuses are awarded each year.
  • Annual Safety bonuses are awarded each year.

Some of the duties you will be performing include:

  • Monitor water/wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary to control their operation.
    • Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and EPA standards.
      • Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
        • Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintain all necessary records.
        • Assists field crew with water / sewer breaks, meter change outs, meter box replacements, valve exercising, and hydrant flushing.
          • Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties including meter reading, grounds maintenance, and preventative / corrective maintenance of various equipment at lift stations and treatment facilities.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 5/day week, 8 hour/days 7:00am – 4:00pm with hour lunch. Flexibility and extended shifts to meet the seasonal demands of the water system. Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position. Availability for standby duty and the ability to be “on-call,” working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Response to emergency events and alarm callouts required as scheduled and required.

What will you need to succeed?

  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
    • Valid Florida Driver's License required.
      • Must possess a valid State of Florida Class "C" Drinking Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license.
        • A dual certification in Water and Wastewater will be an added benefit for qualifications.
        • The ability to acquire a Florida DOT Medical Card to drive a commercial vehicle.
          • Being able to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as following safety procedures.
            • Successful candidates will be required to complete a DOT background check, DOT pre-placement physical and DOT drug screen before employment.
