DWH Engineer II

Role purpose

We are looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Engineer II (DWH Engineer II) to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in AWS-based data platforms, large-scale data processing, data warehousing, and SQL performance optimization. This role requires expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and supporting enterprise data migration and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data warehouse and ETL/ELT solutions on AWS.
• Build and optimize data pipelines using PySpark and AWS Glue.
• Develop and maintain AWS Lambda-based automation and orchestration workflows.
• Work extensively with Amazon Redshift, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Manage and optimize data storage and processing using Amazon S3 and Athena.
• Implement secure and scalable access controls using AWS IAM.
• Perform SQL query tuning and optimization for large-scale datasets and complex transformations.
• Support data migration, modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, BI, application, and infrastructure teams.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data platform reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Follow best practices for data engineering, coding standards, CI/CD, and cloud architecture.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehousing roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:
- AWS Glue
- AWS Lambda
- Amazon Redshift
- Amazon S3
- Amazon Athena
- AWS IAM
• Strong experience with PySpark and large-scale data processing.
• Expertise in SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and optimizing Redshift stored procedures.
• Experience in data migration and cloud modernization projects.
• Good understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL/ELT frameworks, and distributed data processing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities.

Good to Have

• Experience with AI-driven automation solutions.
• Knowledge of Prompt Engineering and Generative AI concepts.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks or AI-assisted development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
