E&I QC Inspector
About the job:
Kent is looking for a QC Inspector (E&I) at the Saint John LNG (SJLNG) Project. This role is responsible for performing Electrical & Instrumentation inspection activities and supporting quality assurance processes to ensure that construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards, supporting successful project execution. Working closely with Construction, Commissioning, QA/QC, Engineering, and Operations teams, the QC Inspector (E&I) supports inspection processes, identifies deficiencies and non-conformances, assists with turnover activities, and ensures work is completed in accordance with project requirements. The role requires sound technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities:
Inspection & Quality Assurance
• Perform Electrical & Instrumentation inspections in support of construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Verify work complies with project specifications, drawings, client requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes.
• Conduct inspections on cable installations, terminations, grounding systems, instrumentation devices, control panels, and associated E&I systems.
• Support implementation and compliance with inspection test plans (ITPs), procedures, and quality documentation requirements.
• Identify deficiencies, non-conformances, and punch list items and report findings to QA/QC supervision.
• Verify completion of corrective actions and support re-inspection activities as required.
Construction & Commissioning Coordination
• Work closely with Construction and Commissioning teams to support inspection priorities and upcoming project requirements.
• Support turnover and commissioning activities through verification of completed work and inspection documentation.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, Construction, and Operations teams regarding inspection findings and quality requirements.
• Escalate quality concerns and potential compliance issues to QA/QC leadership.
• Support project readiness activities while maintaining awareness of inspection status and outstanding items.
• Participate in system walkdowns, turnover activities, and project quality initiatives as assigned.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and reporting within project systems.
• Prepare inspection reports, quality records, deficiency logs, and turnover documentation as required.
• Assist with tracking and closure of outstanding deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Support project close-out documentation and quality reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with project quality processes, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Provide inspection status updates to QA/QC supervision as required.

Your knowledge, skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:
• Technical training or post-secondary education in Electrical, Instrumentation, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
• 5+ years of experience in E&I QA/QC inspection, commissioning support, or construction quality within industrial, energy, LNG, EPC, or oil & gas environments preferred.
• Demonstrated experience supporting inspection processes, including:
• Electrical installation inspections
• Instrumentation inspections and verification
• Quality assurance/quality control procedures
• Turnover and commissioning support
• Deficiency identification and reporting
• Inspection documentation and quality records management
• Experience supporting industrial, LNG, energy, EPC, oil & gas, or large construction projects is considered an asset.
• Strong familiarity with applicable codes, standards, inspection procedures, and quality documentation requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools is preferred.
• Experience with project management systems, quality tracking tools, turnover systems, and ERP systems is considered an asset.
• Previous experience in an E&I QA/QC Inspector role is preferred.
Communication
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to effectively coordinate with Construction, Commissioning, Engineering, Operations, and QA/QC teams across multiple disciplines.
• Comfortable operating within fast-paced, site-based construction environments.
• Ability to communicate inspection findings, quality concerns, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
