Education Manager
General oversight of all things education - in salon and hair school. Works closely with the Education Administrator for the facilitation of these tasks, and reports to the Operations Manager. Lead teacher at The Industry and working stylist - full time position.
Compensation: $30-$35/hour + 3% commision
The Industry
- Books Davines education dates for the program
- Oversees the ordering of the kits and makes edits to the contents if needed
- Interviews new student intakes (see process)
- Correspond with Finance/Admin Manager (Cherith) with results of interviews
- Interim check ins with students throughout the program (2x per class)
- Interviews SPP applicants with Regional Manager
- Ensures Education Administrator facilitates schedules being built out
- Is able to teach SPP program (currently 12 classes per year) .. once trained by Aly after shadowing
- Ensures SPP Admin Manual is followed
- Manages teachers
- Annual reviews
- Facilitates teacher time off
- Able to lead education meetings weekly
- Ensure any edits to the curriculum that come from these meetings are facilitated
- Involved in the oversight and execution of the basic and advanced hair design curriculum
- Meets with the Creative Director quarterly to assess the program
- Ensures inventory and backbar orders are facilitated by Education Administrator
- Hires and Onboards teachers alongside Creative Director
The Refinery House
- Develops annual Company Education Calendar, in consultation with the Creative Director and Regional manager, specifically addressing areas of discomfort for team members and to support stylist in different levels
- Sends requested dates to Andrea and Carrie Ann (cc - Regional Manager and Ed Administrator)
- Oversee the dates get added to the company calendar via Education Administrator
- Ensure team members are motivated to attend education with help of Education Administrator
- Attends annual advanced education with creative director and/or regional manager
- Teach 1-2 classes per year
