EHR Associate Analyst

Role Scope:
We are looking for an EHR Associate Analyst to assist in the development, support, functionality roll, and long-term support of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and other supporting IT systems. Optimizing workflow processes through building applications that are tailored to meet the needs. In this role, you will also be the subject matter expert for the EHR system capabilities and functional use. You will also assist in the implementation, testing, go-live, and long-term support.
- Designs, configures, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains programs/applications.
- Applies detailed knowledge of system functionality to the implementation of new applications and modules. Drives testing, training and other organizational needs around key IT systems.
- Uses technical and analytical skills to determine best approaches to tailoring system to meet Habitat Health’s goals of standardization across the health system.
- Builds and configures systems to meet requirements, using available application tools.
- Creates documentation of business requirements, current and future state workflows, and any custom build as appropriate.
- Manages small and medium sized projects with minimal managerial oversight. May take a key leadership role in larger projects. Develops key project management tools, including project plans, issues logs, testing plans, and go-live events.
- Develops strong relationships with end user communities, customers, and business partners.
- Responds to issues reported by users; conducts research and resolves issues in a timely fashion.
- Manages Epic community connect vendor (OCHIN) to track issues, maintenance, enhancements and other changes to Epic system
- Review release notes to stay on top of upcoming changes, working with internal stakeholders to prioritize and time implementation of new functionality
Qualifications and Competencies
- Previous healthcare IT or other relevant experience.
- Epic certification in area of support or certification within 3 months of hire
- Excellent analytical, technical, and organizational skills demonstrated through prior healthcare IT experience
- Ability to learn new vendor applications quickly and utilize application tools to tailor system to meet user requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member across multiple teams
- Ability to develop, document and ensure adherence to technical standards
- Ability to independently research and perform analysis to resolve complex issues
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to manage one’s own work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
- Must be a team player and demonstrate interest in a longer-term role
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer Systems, or another related field.
- Strong understanding of healthcare business process and technology
- Basic understanding of clinical workflows and terminology
- Healthcare IT experience in acute care or ambulatory care settings, PACE experience preferred
- Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing
Compensation:
We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) savings, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 and is a bonus eligible position. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
