Job Summary:
The EHS Manager role is a key leadership position within our Technical Services Group (TSG) division, and is directly responsible for building the safety culture at our workplace & project sites. You will set goals and objectives to meet KPIs and evaluate data trends that drive CIP (Continuous Improvement Plan) of EHS systems and processes.
The EHS Manager's core functions cover resource planning, updating of project EHS plans during bid and execution phase, hiring of right talent at right time and training & certification of personnel while ensuring employees work safely and comply with EHS Plan & PTG’s B-SAFE program. Position requires maintaining high level of communications on EHS matters, risks and plans with the BU team, customers, subcontractors and corporate EHS head on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Develop JHAs & Hazard Communication Plan covering specifics for the work location /site and scope of work.
- Prepare EHS project support plans, interview and hire talent, organize and conduct safety training programs for employees, including emergency response drills.
- Investigate and analyze incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain safety records, including incident reports, training documentation, and safety data sheets and OSHA Logs, metrics with leading and lagging indicators.
- Collaborate with management and department heads to develop and update safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Stay up to date on safety regulations and industry best practices to continuously improve workplace safety.
- Define safety objectives for new hires during orientation to cultivate and promote a safe and positive work culture.
- Maintain safety equipment & gear, vehicles/permits, EHS PPE, supplies and their SDS at work locations and project sites for quick access and use
- Establish emergency response protocols and facility contacts for first aid and initial medical evaluation near work locations for site personnel. Manage compliance with HIPAA laws for employees’ medical records and their safe return to work.
