EHS Specialist

LotusWorks is seeking an experienced EHS Site Specialist to provide dedicated, embedded health and safety support to our growing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams at semiconductor manufacturing campuses across the United States. This is a hands-on, field-forward role designed to integrate directly into day-to-day O&M operations, ensuring LotusWorks personnel work safely, compliantly, and in alignment with both LotusWorks EHS standards and site requirements.

The EHS Site Specialist will report directly to the LotusWorks O&M Manager and maintain a functional alignment with the LotusWorks EHS Manager. This dual reporting structure ensures operational agility while preserving program consistency, document control, and regulatory compliance across all sites.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Task & Permit Management

  • Review, verify, and authorize Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) and Non-Standard Work Plans (NSWPs) for O&M daily work orders prior to commencement
  • Evaluate job plans for completeness, hazard identification, control adequacy, and alignment with client site requirements
  • Support technicians in completing Before Action Review (BAR) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) forms where required
  • Review, validate, and track work permits (general industry and construction) ensuring compliance with LotusWorks and site standards
  • Verify LOTO/Hazardous Energy Control, and working at heights procedures are in place, reviewed, and followed prior to equipment work

On-Site EHS Presence & Field Oversight

  • Provide embedded daily EHS presence during O&M operations across assigned campuses
  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced field observations of LotusWorks O&M technicians performing maintenance, inspections, and equipment work
  • Stop work authority (SWA) – identify, escalate, and document imminent hazard situations; support team in corrective actions and re-authorization
  • Monitor site conditions including housekeeping, access control, PPE compliance, and safe work practices
  • Interface directly with site EHS and facilities counterparts on site-specific safety requirements, permitting, and incidents
  • Promote Good Catch reporting and encourage other leading indicator methods across sites

PPE & Equipment Inspections

  • Conduct regular inspection of personal protective equipment including full body harnesses, lanyards, SRLs, SCBA/PAPR, hearing protection, and task-specific PPE
  • Maintain PPE inspection records and flag defective equipment for removal from service
  • Inspect tools, aerial work platforms (MEWPs), ladders, and scaffolding components used by O&M teams
  • Support PPE needs assessments and coordinate with the EHS Coordinator on procurement and inventory

Monthly Site Visits

  • Conduct structured monthly EHS site visits to all assigned campuses:
    • Chandler, AZ
    • Rio Rancho, NM
    • Hillsboro/Aloha, OR
  • Perform formal EHS audits and walkthroughs using the LotusWorks U.S. Audit Template, documenting findings and tracking CAPAs to closure
  • Engage with O&M team leads and technicians to identify emerging hazards, training gaps, and program improvement opportunities

Incident Reporting & Investigation

  • Respond to near misses, good catches, first aid cases, and recordable injuries involving LotusWorks O&M personnel
  • Assist in completion of and submitting incident reports accurately and within required timeframes
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) development
  • Liaise with the EHS Manager and O&M Manager during client notifications and external reporting obligations

Training & Compliance

  • Deliver or coordinate task-specific EHS training for O&M technicians (confined space, LOTO, fall protection, electrical safety, hot work, etc.)
  • Ensure all personnel on assigned sites have completed required LotusWorks and Site-specific onboarding and recurring training
  • Track training records through the LMS and to the EHS Coordinator
  • Support site compliance with client prequalification requirements, including documentation uploads and metric tracking

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate, timely records of PTPs, permits, inspections, audits, training, and incidents
  • Contribute to weekly/monthly EHS metrics reporting (TRIR, DART, near miss frequency, good catch rates)
  • Support development and periodic review of EHS procedures, JHAs, and safe work instructions
  • Review and routinely update Risk Assessment and site Emergency Response Plans
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

  • 3-5 years of progressive EHS experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or semiconductor environments
  • Demonstrated experience in an embedded or site-based EHS role supporting ops or maintenance teams
  • Hands-on experience with permit-to-work systems, confined space entry programs, LOTO procedures, and fall protection programs
  • Experience working within or supporting semiconductors, biopharma, data centers, or comparable high-hazard environments is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with contractor EHS management systems and prequalification platforms is a plus
  • Multi-site travel experience and comfort working across time zones and site cultures
  • Proactive, field-first mindset – comfortable working independently and exercising professional judgment in fast-moving environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to build trust with technicians and tradespeople while maintaining safety accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – capable of documenting findings clearly and escalating issues professionally
  • Detail-oriented and thorough in permit reviews, inspections, and regulatory compliance verification
  • Organizational discipline – able to manage multi-site obligations, track open CAPAs, and meet documentation deadlines
  • Collaborative team player – aligned with LotusWorks EHS team while serving as the O&M team's primary EHS resource

Education / Licenses / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, or a related field preferred
  • Associate's degree with significant relevant field experience will be considered
  • OSHA 30

  • Hazard Communication / GHS / SDS Management
  • Incident Investigation / Root Cause Analysis
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
