As of EIA Engineer you will provide technical support in field of industrial Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation. You will provide design, implementation, and/or maintenance of EIA installations and software to safeguard or transform operations across the EMEA region.
You will collaborate with various teams and external partners to deliver agile and scalable solutions, and contribute to Carmeuse’s manufacturing, digitalization, and development objectives and strategies.
Under the management of EIA Manager EMEA, your responsibilities will be :
Diagnostic & Response
• You will ensure availability for field or remote response to automation failures or improvements.
• You will conduct structured evaluation and escalation.
• You will propose and drive corrective actions.
Engineering
• You will propose technical solutions for EIA projects.
• You will conduct technical and safety reviews.
• You will perform design, specification, cost and schedule estimation, proposals evaluation, and acceptance of supplier/contractor documentation.
External Services
• You will support purchasing with EIA suppliers/contractors’ strategy & selection, contracts execution & control; and performance evaluation.
Work supervision
• You will coordinate factory and on-site activities.
• You will provide technical guidance.
• You will ensure quality & quantity control, and acceptance of EIA works.
Commissioning & Start-Up
• You will conduct field inspections, testing, and configuration (including VFDs, instrumentation, networks, PLC/SCADA…).
• You will support process teams with hot commissioning.
• You will handover documentation.
• You will train operators and maintenance staff.
Software Development
• You will develop, administer, and maintain tools and applications (incl. ticketing, asset management & monitoring, access services, databases, documentation, etc.).
Systems Administration
• You will monitor cash flow and working capital drivers (AR, AP, inventories).
• You will support initiatives to optimize liquidity and working capital efficiency.
Team Leadership & People Development
•You will manage Accounting and Controlling teams, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• You will develop team capabilities through coaching, skill development, and clear performance expectations.
• You will ensure robust succession planning and workload allocation.
Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
• You will promote the effective use of various financial tools (SAP, Tagetik, PBI, etc.).
• You will standardize financial and administrative processes across the Area.
• You will drive automation, simplification and harmonization.
Cross Functional Collaboration & Integration Projects
• You will act as a Business Partner to Area leadership and support strategic decision making.
• You will coordinate with Group Finance functions (Controlling, Tax, Treasury, FP&A).
• You will lead or support integration of new entities (M&A, carve-out).
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• You hold, at least, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation or related engineering filed.
• You bring a relevant experience in EIA engineering within industrial environments.
• You have experience in an industrial, multisite, or multinational context.
• You are proficient in English, other EMEA languages are a plus.
• You are ready to travel between 20 and 60% of your time.
• You master Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation (EIA) in industrial environments (MV/LV, instrumentation, control systems).
• You have hands-on expertise with PLCs (Siemens, Schneider), SCADA & HMI, including programming.
• You understand industrial IT/OT systems (networks, cybersecurity, servers, connectivity, virtualization).
• You have experience in EIA system design, installation, and commissioning.
• You demonstrate strong knowledge of functional safety, industrial risks, and emergency systems.
• You are familiar with industrial processes and continuous improvement / project management approaches (Lean, TPM, MES).
• You work in a structured, analytical, and process‑driven way.
• You communicate clearly and can influence effectively within a matrix organization.
• You work autonomously and manage multiple tasks with ease.
• You pay close attention to detail while keeping the ability to step back and see the bigger picture.
THE TEAM
You will be part of the ENG Automation & Process at Carmeuse and report directly to Geoffray Hutsemekers, EIA Manager EMEA.
