Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Sales organization and its customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions for the applied products and technology.

We are building a new Technical Support (TS) team dedicated to supporting ABB's medium voltage indoor component OEM market in China. This role will provide comprehensive technical sales support to deepen customer collaboration, drive innovation, and enhance customer experience through agile technical expertise. Mission to deepen ABB's integration into partners' standard designs and supply chains, unlock new business opportunities through technical excellence, and improve customer satisfaction with responsive, expert support.


The work model for the role is: {onsite}

This role is contributing to the {Technical Support (TS)} in {Xiamen China}. Main stakeholders are {ELDS}.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Track 1: Agile Regional Sales/PB Support

1. Support FES & PB in Project Early Stage

• Support Field Sales Engineers (FES) and Panel Builders in early project stage, influence sales projects through technical consultation and expertise, provide technical support to shape project specifications and requirements
• Draft project-based technical bulletins, support bidding and quotation

2. PB Focus Product & Solution Innovation

• Deepen ABB's integration into Panel Builder standard designs and supply chains
• Provide agile technical support, customized configuration, and dedicated solutions
• Increase share-of-business and customer stickiness through technical excellence
• Boost PBs and Engineering to co-design and develop differentiated solutions for Grid Automation and M&D by project

3. Front-End and Back-End Bridge

• Serve as bridge between front-end sales and back-end execution
• Expand cooperation from component sales to system solutions and services
• Build mutually beneficial ecosystem centered on ABB technology
• Facilitate direct manufacturing unit linkage for seamless execution

• Manage regional project pipeline and provide forecast input to Manufacturing Unit for capacity planning
• Monitor project progress and update pipeline status regularly

• Handle non-standard solution applications and complex requirements, provide technical proposals to Engineering team for custom solutions

• Conduct bidding analysis and competitive intelligence gathering, input customer needs, technical trends, and competitor intelligence to PMT

4. Training

• Deliver regular training to FES, partners, and customers with focus on products, solutions, ordering processes/tools, and execution

Qualifications for the role

Education Background

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Power Systems, or related technical fields

Working Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in technical support, sales engineering, or application engineering in the electrical industry
  • Experience with medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, or related components preferred
  • Familiarity with OEM market and partner collaboration models
  • Experience in customer-facing roles with strong presentation, communication and problem-solving capabilities

Position Technical Knowledge/Skills**

  • Strong knowledge of medium voltage electrical products and applications
  • Proficiency in product configuration tools and ordering tool/process
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings(mechanical drawing and electrical diagram) and specifications
  • Understanding of electrical standards (IEC, GB, etc.)
  • Competence in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and technical documentation
