Responsibilities

    • To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company’s vision.
    • Reading, writing, and understanding of verbal and written instructions.
    • Having accountability for human and equipment safety.
    • Keeping equipment and working areas clean and neat.
    • Perform basic maintenance on equipment as required.
    • Required to lift to 100 pounds.
    • All other duties assigned by the supervisor are consistent with the job classification.
    • Ability to use 2-way radio communications effectively and in a professional manner.
    • Assist in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures, failure analysis RCAs, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
    • Attends and participates in department and team meetings and training classes.
    • Familiar with cement process flow and equipment functions preferred.
    • Familiar and able to perform work following NFPA codes.
    • Able to use the storeroom system to locate spare parts and able to input work requests in the CMMS with proper training.
    • Able to operate mobile equipment with proper training.
    • Able to troubleshoot, repair, or replace motors, transformers, VFDs, starters, breakers, disconnects, fuses, electrical interlocks, temperature and pressure transmitters, and similar devices with a high degree of skilled technical competency.
    • Able to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electronic circuits.
    • Able to troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic electrical control circuits.
    • Able to assemble, install, set up, and maintain electrical, electronic, and instrumentation devices.
    • Able to use PLC and PC programs and be familiar with relay logic, programmable controller logic, and computer hardware.
    • Able to use plant SCADA/HMI system to make modifications and assist in process control troubleshooting.
    • Familiar with standard MS Office products, such as Excel and Word, required.
    • Shall have the ability to maintain process and environmental gas analyzer systems with appropriate training.
    • Must be able to read and comprehend equipment manuals.
    • Able to read blueprints and schematic diagrams and maintain as found/as-built mark-ups.
    • Able to select and use proper tools, testing, and measuring devices.
    • Familiar with safe rigging techniques.
    • Able to read and understand plant power distribution single-line diagrams and AC/DC circuits.
    • Able to change out motors, fuses, electrical/mechanical valves, thermocouples, transducers, and similar electrical and mechanical devices.
    • Able to perform coupling alignments.
    • Able to understand air pollution control device operation and maintain equipment to optimum performance levels.
    • Shall require knowledge of the different lubrication requirements of plant equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required
  • Successful candidate must work shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Requires qualification received from either and approved Electrical Training Program or other institution
  • Candidate must take and pass a written Electrical and PLC test
  • Working conditions: Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions, in dust, chemical and gas fumes, moderate to extreme noise levels, at heights, and in confined spaces.
