The Electrical and Instrument Reliability Leader reports to the Vice President of Reliability and Maintenance and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Electrical and Instrumentation Reliability Program. The position will support four LSB operating sites as well as overall corporate needs and provide technical guidance for site engineers. This position will serve as a subject matter expert on reliable design, operation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation assets. The role will ensure activities and procedures result in cost effective programs that achieve corporate reliability targets.
Responsibilities:
- Define, build, and sustain an instrument, electrical and control’s reliability program that identifies and closes reliability gaps, improves equipment availability, and ensures assets are used effectively to support safe, reliable operations.
- Lead and/or support failure analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and FMEA efforts for electrical and instrumentation equipment failures, recurring downtime events, and safety incidents. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance to shift maintenance practices from time-based to condition-based triggers where value is demonstrated
- Ensure improvement and capital projects have appropriate engagement from E&I discipline
- Collaborate with peers within LSB Industries to develop and share best practices that improve safety, reliability and productivity.
- Serves as a coach and mentor to increase the overall electrical and instrumentation knowledge and capabilities of the site staff and front-line employees.
- Participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis), SIL (Safety Integrity Level) determination studies, and other process hazard analyses, providing expertise on instrumentation and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
- Responsible for driving LSB/PCC compliance with the NEC and driving electrical reliability and integrity at the facilities.
- Develop relationships with electrical utility suppliers and drive high availability and reliability of the power supply to the facility.
- Responsible for the development and ongoing revisions to the Electrical System Engineering Model (SKM) including Short Circuit, Coordination studies and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis
