Electrical Applications Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Applications Engineer to support the design and implementation of critical power solutions within data center environments. This role works closely with customers, contractors, consultants, sales teams, and internal departments to develop engineered solutions, provide technical expertise, and ensure successful project execution from concept through commissioning
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with sales and customers to develop technical solutions that meet project requirements for electrical power distribution systems.
Prepare and review project proposals, submittal packages, and supporting technical documentation.
Manage projects through the order process, coordinating activities from order entry to production and field startup.
Create and provide detailed drawings, engineering documentation, and compliance-related submittals for customer review and approval.
Serve as a technical resource for customers and consultants regarding power distribution equipment and Static Transfer Switch (STS) applications.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues encountered during installation, startup, commissioning, or equipment operation.
Conduct technical presentations and training sessions for customers, consultants, and distribution partners.
Support product evaluations, testing activities, application documentation, and competitive product assessments.
Communicate customer feedback and market needs to engineering, product management, and research and development teams.
Travel to customer locations, project sites, and data center facilities as needed (approximately 25–35%).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience supporting data center electrical infrastructure through applications engineering, field engineering, design engineering, or a similar function.
At least 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
Strong understanding of data center electrical systems, including:
- UL 891 switchboards
- Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
- Static Transfer Switches (STSs)
- Redundancy strategies such as N+1 and 2N architectures
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting mission-critical power systems within data center environments.
Strong customer-facing communication and project coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.
