Electrical & Electronics Technician

UVJC is a Singapore‑based deep‑tech equipment company developing next‑generation dry thin‑film printing and deposition technologies. We design and build advanced tools that bridge the gap between R&D and scalable manufacturing, enabling precision, solvent‑free fabrication across semiconductors, electronics, and emerging applications.

Shape the future with us.

Job Purpose:

Apply principles of electrical and electronics engineering to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain Universal Vapor Jet Corporation (UVJC) equipment at company/customer sites. Provide timely field service support to ensure system uptime, customer satisfaction, and safe, compliant operations under direction of engineering and service leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble, and commission systems, including electrical panels, wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, and controllers. Support hardware R&D initiatives from component build to system integration

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, and functional verification to meet performance specifications and uptime targets

  • Troubleshoot electrical/electronic faults using schematics, wiring diagrams, logs, and diagnostic instruments; identify root cause and implement corrective actions.

  • Support system upgrades, retrofits, and engineering change implementations in the field; verify changes through testing and documentation.

  • Manage spare parts and tools: maintain service kits, track consumption, return defective parts per RMA procedures, and ensure traceability

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality) to resolve recurring issues and improve serviceability.

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and cleanliness; follow lockout/tagout and other electrical safety practices.

  • Be available for travel and occasional on-call support as required to meet customer commitments.

Skills:

  • Work with full competence to select and use multimeters, clamp meters, oscilloscopes, insulation/continuity testers, and power supplies; interprets waveforms and measurements to validate system performance and isolate faults.

  • Work with full competence to diagnose component- and board-level issues using signal tracing, schematics, datasheets, and test points; identifies component failures, intermittent connections, and noise/grounding issues.

  • Work with full competence to fabricate, route, and terminate cables and harnesses (crimp, solder, ferrules), perform continuity/megger tests, label conductors, and implement strain relief and proper bend radii.

  • Work with full competence to read/mark-up electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, and panel layouts; updates redline and completes as-built documentation.

  • Work with full competence to integrate and test sensors, relays, contactors, motor drives, solenoids, valves, and safety interlocks; performs I/O checkout and basic PLC/drive parameter verification as guided by engineering.

  • Work with full competence to execute I/O and loop checks, verify interlocks and alarms, calibrate sensors/transducers, and complete commissioning checklists for customer acceptance.

  • Work with full competence in through-hole and SMD soldering, rework, jumper repairs, and basic pad/trace fixes; inspects workmanship and verifies functionality after rework.

  • Work with full competence to capture logs and trends using DAQ/software tools; understands basics of field communications (e.g., serial, simple industrial protocols) and performs simple network checks to support troubleshooting.

  • Work with full competence to document findings, parts usage, and test results in service systems; supports root cause analysis and implements corrective/preventive actions with cross-functional teams.

Education:

  • Post-Secondary Non-Tertiary Education (**Technical Diploma/ITE/Higher Nitec) in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of electrical/electronic technician experience in field service, equipment support, R&D, manufacturing, or semiconductor equipment environments.
