Electrical Engineer - Plant D
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Management to develop solutions, programs, and procedures.
- To manage the equipment, tooling, and techniques for all electrical test of Vertiv products, focusing on achieving the electrical functionality requirements of a product to obtain the total Customer satisfaction.
- To provide all services, projects or programs that might help to maintain or to improve product’s electrical operation testing process.
- Implementation of all processes for electrical test needed to assure a product’s electrical requirements, including new products development.
- Follow up and assure the achievement of all objectives established by production management.
- Develop cost reduction ideas through process design, acquisition of tooling, capital equipment or documentation improvements.
- Maintain or improve manufacturing efficiencies through the best utilization of resources and equipment.
- Provide, manage and update all type of documents (test guides, reports, forms, quality alerts) that guarantee product’s electrical requirements.
- Keep and revise electrical test yield records.
- Implementation or identification of new processes to improve yield results. Not affecting electrical test requirements or assembly process cycle time.
- Ability to read, understand one-line and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements.
- 1+ years of proven experience working with the design/configuration electrical power distribution products and systems. Preference given to experience with switchgear.
- Developing of Technician Certification programs.
- Provide any assistance needed on solving equipment or manufacturing line problem.
- Provide training, coaching and assistance to Test Technicians for the right use of equipment and understanding of processes.
- Assist on product’s failure analysis.
- Define disposition to defective products or materials (to be returned to a supplier or to be junked).
- Support TL 9000 and ISO 9000 Quality International standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- PC working knowledge (MS Office, PDM system, CADD, Minitab)
- Proven ability to create, convert & modify drawings with AutoCAD Electrical or Engineering Base software.
- Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards for MV Switchgear.
- 3+ years of proven experience on electronics circuit boards, electrical/electronic failure analysis and electrical/electronic equipment problem solving.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of assembly and configuration processes
- Fully teamwork oriented.
- Bilingual 80%
- Self-motivated, make things happen, take owner and leadership.
- Has de ability to prioritize and work critical issues first.
- Problem solving techniques.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- BS Degree in Electronics is a must.
