Electrical Maintenance Technician

BASIC FUNCTION:


Responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and availability of industrial electrical systems, performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as supporting improvements and modernization projects. Works in compliance with technical standards, internal procedures, and safety requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Preventive and corrective maintenance: perform inspections, tests, adjustments, and repairs on motors, panels, MCCs, transformers, circuit breakers, sensors, cables, and automation systems.
  • Failure diagnosis: identify the root causes of electrical failures, propose solutions, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • VSD and control system configuration: carry out parameterization of VSDs, command and control systems, energy meters, industrial devices, and equipment.
  • Diagram reading and interpretation: interpret electrical schematics, single‑line diagrams, technical drawings, and manufacturers’ manuals.
  • Electrical safety: apply lockout/tagout (LOTOTO) procedures and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Installations and commissioning: perform assembly, replacement, testing, and start‑up of electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Basic instrumentation: adjust and verify sensors, transmitters, actuators, and field devices.
  • Performance analysis: monitor indicators such as energy consumption, current, temperature, and electrical vibration when applicable.
  • Technical documentation: record interventions, update maintenance history, and support internal audits.
  • Operational support: provide technical assistance to the production team during shutdowns, startups, and emergencies.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and hand-on support to the maintenance team during plant shutdowns, startup and emergency solution to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
  • Continuous improvement: propose improvements to electrical systems, reliability, and operational safety.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Technical degree in Electrical Industrial, or related fields. Associate degree in Mining or equivalent professional experience and 3–5 years of experience.

  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, VSD and industrial equipment.
  • Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems (SAP, Infor, Maximo, or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge of electrical, and instrumentation maintenance processes.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, technicians, contractors, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Competent with personal computers, spreadsheets, and word‑processing applications.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong focus on safety, results, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with crushing, milling, and screening processes.
  • Willingness to assist mechanics and support mechanical tasks as needed.


Hourly range: $30 to $35
