Electrician (Alarm System Technician)- DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an electrician for fire alarms, responsible for installing, modifying, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing fire alarm systems, including the city loop and digitizer at the Fire station, as well as other alarm equipment of moderate complexity or a system of limited complexity.
Installs, repairs, replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls, as well as installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs fire alarm systems and equipment of moderate complexity or a system of moderate complexity Troubleshoots problem areas, inspects for defective equipment, and examines faulty wiring. Additionally, installs, repairs, replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings and structures. Maintains software/firmware for new installs and makes programming changes to existing software/firmware for alarm systems, subsystems, and devices Uses and maintains various types of hand and/or power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
