ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR (TITLE 32)
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1207000 and is part of the IL CSMS 1, National Guard.
As a ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR (TITLE 32), WG-2604-12, you will inspect the repair of electronics equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Use a wide variety of inspection techniques to inspect standard electronic systems such as radar, radio communications receivers, and transmitters (single band, UHF and VHF), mobile subscriber equipment (MSE), missile guidance systems, laser range finders, and electronic fire control systems. inspect heavy mobile artillery, small arms, powered support, optical, and other equipment or components of equal or lesser complexity. Conduct inspections, diagnoses nature and extent of equipment malfunction, and as required, perform required maintenance to restore to a serviceable condition various types of tactical computers, radio sets, etc. Use various types of test equipment such as systems tests sets, frequency meters, standing wave indicators, oscillators, AN/GRM-122s, and other electronic testing devices to inspect equipment and components. Inspect equipment to determine repairs needed. Utilize established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evaluate economic feasibility of repair(s). Consider a variety of factors such as cost and availability of parts, man-hours, and impact of time constraints on the mission to assess whether repair is economical. Perform in-process inspections to ensure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Perform final inspection, certifying that equipment is in satisfactory operating condition, or rejects the work and returns the equipment to the repair shop with specific reports prescribing additional repairs.
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement. Selectee will be required to wear a military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
