Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in our Emergency Department. Emergency Room Physician Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations
  • Stabilize and resuscitate patients, managing medical and surgical emergencies
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory and imaging studies
  • Perform emergency procedures including:
    • Laceration repair and wound care
    • Incision and drainage
    • Fracture stabilization, casting, and splinting
    • Procedural sedation
    • Lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis
    • Airway management and vascular access
  • Administer medications and develop treatment plans
  • Coordinate patient disposition including admission, transfer, or discharge
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the medical record
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited program
  • Completion of an accredited residency program (minimum 3 years)
  • Active Michigan medical license required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
