JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Emerging Solutions Engineer is responsible for the technical development, execution, and deployment of engineering tools, techniques, and packages in support of the Emerging Solutions business. This individual serves as the premier technical subject matter expert (SME), assisting in presales, consulting, service, and research and design activities to drive the Emerging Solutions portfolio.

This role focuses heavily on executing Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to prove new technologies with new and existing customers, directly translating technical capability into sales opportunities. The Lead Engineer works closely with management to develop engineering procedures, work processes, and tools that increase the technical efficiency of the overall delivery team.

Responsibilities and Results

· Business Partnership: Works in partnership with Emerging Solutions Product Management and Business Development personnel to provide the technical execution necessary to deliver annual business targets.

· Product Focus: Serves as the primary technical expert for Asset Management Solutions (Sushi Sensor Solutions), Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTSX), and turnkey, custom-designed, application-specific solutions.

· Technical Project Execution: Executes engineering projects in accordance with uniform project management standards, ensuring deadlines, technical specs, and quality metrics are met.

· Cross-Functional Teamwork: Participates actively in cross-functional technical teams, providing deep domain expertise.

· Proof of Concept (PoC) Ownership: Owns complex Proof of Concepts from start to finish—including hardware/software configuration, installation, testing, and demonstrating technical viability to clients.

· Solution Architecture: Designs repeatable application packages consisting of core products combined with 3rd-party components to provide full, comprehensive solutions for customers.

· System Integration: Integrates specialized solutions into client infrastructure, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, process controls, data acquisition, and cloud environments.

· Sales Support: Collaborates on technical discussions with internal and external customers, supports data analysis for asset monitoring solutions, and develops technical project quotes and proposals.

· Customization & Testing: Performs software and hardware customizations, modifications, and testing for new feature requirements.

· Quality & Compliance: Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes, while maintaining a working knowledge of applicable industry trends, technical standards, and local regulations.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar technical discipline. Equivalent industry experience may be substituted for education requirements.

· Experience: 7+ years of successful engineering design, plant engineering, service engineering, or consultancy experience.

· Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of PLCs, and process controls. Experience with Asset Management / Monitoring technologies and Fiber Optic Sensing is preferred.

· Role Level: Senior or Lead-level individual contributor experience. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Previous managerial experience is not required.
