ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.

Looking for a role where you can grow, feel supported, and make a real difference in people’s lives? Whether you’re an experienced Employment Consultant or you’re ready to bring your people skills from customer facing roles into a more meaningful career, this could be your next step.

At Employment Plus, you’ll join a team that genuinely cares - about you and the people we support. Your work will help individuals with a disability, injury or health condition build confidence, independence and a future they can be proud of.

We’re excited to welcome a new Employment Consultant to our Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program. Unlike traditional employment services, IEA offers:
• A smaller caseload, giving you time to build genuine relationships
• A focus on quality outcomes, not volume
• More hands on, personalised support and relationship building

You’ll support people across the outer Eastern suburbs community, working with individuals in Croydon, Lilydale and surrounding areas as they move toward sustainable employment.

Why you’ll love working with us
• Purpose with impact - every day, you’ll help someone move closer to meaningful employment
• Supportive culture – a collaborative team and leaders who want to see you thrive
• Growth & learning - full training and mentoring to set you up for success
• Balance built in - permanent full time role with a 9 day fortnight or monthly RDO
• Salary packaging perks - boost your take home pay with generous NFP benefits

What you’ll be doing

This role can be fast-paced and requires you to stay organised and focused on outcomes, but you’ll have strong support and clear systems to help you succeed.

A typical day might include:
• Building supportive, motivating relationships with IEA participants
• Helping people prepare resumes, job applications and interview skills
• Connecting with local employers, identifying suitable opportunities and advocating for your participants
• Providing ongoing support once someone starts work
• Making referrals to training providers, allied health and community services
• Keeping accurate records to ensure quality support

About you
You enjoy working with people and want to make a positive impact. You might be:
• An experienced Employment Consultant looking for a more supportive, relationship focused program
• Someone from a customer service background (call centre or face to face), HR, community services, teaching or other roles where you have demonstrated your ability to quickly build professional relationships, ready to step into a meaningful career where your people skills shine.

If you’re a strong communicator, motivating, organised, resilient and calm under pressure, you’ll thrive here. A driver’s licence and your own car are required as you’ll travel between sites across the region.

Attractive remuneration with NFP salary packaging
• Opportunity to work your fulltime hours across a 9 day fortnight or accrue a monthly RDO
