Job Title: Design Engineer for Pump and Skid designing

BUSINESS: Industrial Group (Pumps)

LOCATION: Ahmedabad

DIRECT REPORTING: Engineering Manager

FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Engineering Manager

Position Summary

The Design Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings, package layouts, P&ID diagrams, and ERP/SAP work orders related to pumps, accessories, and packages. The role requires strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to update drawings based on engineering and customer comments.

Key Responsibilities

1 Package Assembly GA Drawing

  • Develop Package Assembly GA Drawings including:
    • Skid layout
    • Pump arrangement
    • Piping route
    • Instrumentation layout
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams for complete package representation.
  1. Package P&ID Drawing
  • Prepare P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram) for pump packages.
  • Include valves, instruments, piping lines, gauges, and symbols as per standards.
  • Ensure correct tagging, numbering, and alignment with BOM.
  1. Comment Incorporation
  • Revise and update Package GA drawings based on:
    • Customer comments Package GA & P&ID drawings.
    • Internal engineering review
    • Production / Quality team feedback
  • Maintain revision control and documentation.
  1. Additional Responsibilities
  • Prepare General Arrangement (GA) and Cross‑Section (CS) drawings as per work orders for standard pumps and project pumps.
  • Ensure drawings adhere to dimensional, assembly, and customer specifications.
  • Provide drawing clarifications to production and service departments.
  • Maintain structured drawing documentation and revision logs.
  • Follow internal design standards, tolerances, and engineering guidelines.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers for new design improvements.

Functional Skills & Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge in 2D & 3D drafting with AutoCAD, Solid Works etc.
  • Fundamental knowledge of General dimensioning & tolerances.
  • Strong technical drawing and drafting skills.
  • Understanding of pump assemblies and accessories.
  • Knowledge of P&ID symbols and mechanical design.
  • Good communication and teamwork ability.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exposure of SAP & ERP Module.
  • Document control & management
  • Problem Solving Attitude

Education:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineer
