As a Mechanical Engineer I, you'll Support on product development projects in MCAD modelling, collaborating with teams to create solutions that address scientific challenges. This role offers opportunities for professional growth and meaningful impact as you contribute to the development of sophisticated laboratory equipment and scientific instruments that enable our customers' success.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with industrial designers to bridge the gap from concept to product by crafting CAD from sketches or translating surfacing models into SolidWorks.
• Balance multiple tasks and prioritize critical tasks and demonstrate knowledge in the use of basic computer knowledge.
• Solid Model Design: Develops SolidWorks proven models that achieve design requirements using the best design practices and industry design standards.
• Build and maintain detailed 2D and 3D models, adhering to ASME Y14 drawing standards and applying GD&T principles.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand product requirements and translate them into manufacturable designs.
• Analyze and optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
• Chip in to the development and implementation of new design processes and standards.
• Participate in organizational change processes (ECO/ECR/ECN).
Candidate Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2 – 4 yrs proven experience in product design and development using SolidWorks.
• Experience in 3D CAD design using SolidWorks, including the ability to build manufacturing drawings and documentation with practical knowledge of general drafting practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experienced knowledge of Sheet metal and other manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing processes like Casting, Welding, Forging and relevant standards like ASME, AWS, and DIN.
• Proven understanding of ASME Y14 drawing standards and GD&T principles.
• Ability to generate fabrication drawings independently.
• Proficient in Teamcenter or other PLM systems.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
