Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s

  • Prepare and update basic engineering drawings using CAD software in accordance with project standards, specifications, and schedules, ensuring accuracy and consistency of design outputs.
  • Maintain and update engineering spreadsheets, including bills of quantities (BOQs), cost build-ups, and calculation sheets, ensuring all data is accurate, properly documented, and easily traceable for project use.
  • Collect, process, and organize technical data to support engineering reports, presentations, and internal reviews, ensuring information is structured, complete, and fit for decision-making.
  • Assist with site supervision activities by monitoring construction progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety requirements, and highlighting any deviations.
  • Support contract administration activities by tracking and managing technical documentation, drawings, contractor submissions , and approvals to ensure proper record-keeping and timely follow-ups.
  • Review and analyze technical documentation related to rail and port expansion projects under supervision, providing basic inputs and observations to support engineering decisions and project execution.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering technical presentations, progress updates, and follow-up reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support project execution, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Adhere to company safety standards, engineering best practices, and regulatory requirements in all assigned tasks and site activities.

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Foundational understanding of basic project management principles, including task planning, scheduling awareness, and document control (advantageous).
  • Entry-level role suitable for graduates or candidates with limited professional experience.
  • Proficiency or foundational knowledge in the following software tools:
    • AutoCAD and Civil 3D (engineering drawings)
    • Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, calculations)
    • Microsoft Word (technical documents)
    • Microsoft PowerPoint (presentations) o Microsoft Outlook and Teams (communication and coordination)

Working Conditions

  • Based in Buchanan, primarily performing office-based technical support activities.
  • Regular site visits are required, on average 3–4 times per week, depending on project needs.
  • Occasional travel along the railway mainline and to Tokadeh/Yekepa.
  • Exposure to operational railway, port, and construction environments during site activities.
