Engineering Manager Delivery – Warship Technical Authority

Would you like to lead a large, multi-discipline team within the Warship Technical Authority Service Hub? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager at our site in Portsmouth.

As Engineering Manager, you will lead in the management of the team and delivery of packages of work involving new products and upgrades, interfacing regularly with customers, suppliers, and partners.

Your main responsibilities as Engineering Manager Delivery will include\:

· Leads the integrated delivery of multiple engineering disciplines within the Warship Technical Authority Service Hub, ensuring that capability, technical excellence, and delivery performance are aligned to meet current and future business demand.

· Accountable for the effective orchestration of Discipline Leads and Technical Leads, ensuring cohesive cross-discipline working, consistent engineering standards, and the successful delivery of engineering outputs across the portfolio.

· Acts as the senior interface between engineering, programme delivery, and the wider business, driving alignment between strategic priorities, resource capability, and execution.

· Provides engineering leadership support to programmes and projects.

Your skills and qualifications\:

· Chartered Engineer or actively working towards and able to achieve CEng status in ~12 months

· Strong engineering background (from any relevant discipline, e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Systems)

· Ability to lead large, multi-discipline team of Engineers, and good breadth of technical/ engineering understanding

We’re looking for you to bring excellent leadership capabilities and people skills to this role. You’ll need to be able to build credibility across-discipline, and help to develop, coach, and support a large team of skilled, motivated Engineers. You’ll also need to be comfortable operating in complex, often ambiguous environments where your engineering judgement will come into play. Lastly, good prioritisation and organisational skills are a must in order to manage conflicting priorities across a range of stakeholders.
