This is an opportunity for an experienced technical leader to help scale engineering operations, mentor high-performing teams, and contribute directly to the development of large-scale fintech platforms in a fast-moving startup environment.
They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow a Taiwan-based engineering team while working closely with product and leadership stakeholders in the United States.
This is a highly hands-on leadership role suited for someone who started their career as a software engineer and still possesses strong technical depth, particularly in system design and architecture discussions.
The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with people leadership experience and thrives in environments that value ownership, execution speed, and high standards.
What you will do:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team
Drive engineering execution and delivery across multiple initiatives
Provide technical leadership on system architecture and engineering best practices
Partner closely with product, design, and executive stakeholders based in the US
Help scale engineering processes and team structures while maintaining agility
Support hiring and team expansion efforts in Taipei
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Balance technical quality with fast-paced product delivery requirements
What you will need:
Strong background as a software engineer with deep understanding of system design and architecture
5+ years of software engineering experience
At least 2+ years of engineering management or team leadership experience
Prior experience working within fast-paced startup or high-growth environments
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent English and Mandarin communication skills are essential
Comfortable working flexible evening hours to collaborate with US-based teams
Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments
