Engineering Manager (Permanent)

Job Descriptions

Responsibilities include but not limited to :

Tooling & Engineering Management

  • Lead Tool & Die Toolroom operations from design through fabrication, tooling approval, and production handover.
  • Manage tooling development projects and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models.
  • Oversee tool, jig, fixture, and die design activities to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate tooling fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Project Management

  • Lead Engineering Development teams from project initiation through project approval for die casting-related programs.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on engineering and project requirements.
  • Conduct project reviews, engineering discussions, and technical negotiations.
  • Monitor project schedules, costs, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and company quality management systems.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and other manufacturing quality documentation requirements.
  • Ensure tooling and manufacturing activities meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practices throughout engineering and production operations.

What we're looking for

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Min 10 years experience in a die casting, plastic injection molding, metal stamping or related manufacturing industries.
  • Min 5 years of project management experience, preferably in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing customer and supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, EDM, wire cut, grinding, drilling, and turning.
  • Familiar with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD software such as Creo, UG NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
  • Familiar with quality and automotive standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, and PFMEA.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Willing to travel as required for customer meetings and project discussions.
