Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

· Project Planning and Scheduling skills

· Leadership, mentoring and coaching skills

· Capable of managing multiple program/projects, and tasks simultaneously and efficiently

· Possess strong analytical/problem solving skills

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced comprehensive team environment

· Requirement flow-down (Voice of Customer a Functional Requirements a Design Parameter & Process Parameters)

· Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)

· Developing new processes and tooling/fixtures

· Creating 2D and 3D CAD/CAE (SolidWorks)

o Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA, DFMEA)

o Control Methods (Mistake Proofing, Flags, SPC, Inspection, SOP and Warning Signals)

o Tolerance Analysis/Simulation

o Design of Experiments (Factorial DOE – full and fractional) and optimization

o Control Plan

o Project Planning, cross-function leader of teams involving internal and external stakeholders

o Cellular manufacturing flow, pull, line balancing, standard work and time standards

o Root Cause Analysis methods

o Write Justification (ROI) for capital projects

o Product/equipment Validation (i.e. IQOQPA, PPAP)

o Quality Management Systems (QMS) / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

o Design and plan production pilot runs

o Molding (i.e. compression, transfer, injection)

o Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Access and Visio

o Proficient with Minitab

o Understands bill of material (BOM) and shop routing

o Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills

o Self-motivated, results orientated, and can work prioritize workload with minimal supervision

o Able to read and understand Engineering drawings (including GD&T)

o Mechanical Measurement and Instrumentation skills

o Measurement System Analysis (MSA)

o Process Mapping methods (VSM, high/mid/low-level maps, swim-lane, SIPOC)

o Capability Analysis (Cp/Cpk, DPMO, % Yield)

Education:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing or Industrial Technology is preferred.

Qualifications:

· Certification/Certificate in lean Manufacturing

· 10+ years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering

· 5+ years of new product development (NPD) in a team environment

· 5+ years applying SIX Sigma (DMAIC) tools

· 5+ years applying Lean Manufacturing principles in a manufacturing environment

· 4+ years managing/supervising direct reports

· Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience is strongly desired but not required
