Engineering Process Technician
The Process Technician supports the development, validation, continual improvement and transfer of manufacturing processes. This role collaborates closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure processes are robust, validated, and capable of meeting product and regulatory requirements. Mechanical design and drafting skills are applied to support tooling, fixtures, and process development activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation and improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology transfer to manufacturing.
- Support process validation activities, testing, and qualification of equipment and processes.
- Assist in defining and developing parameters, control plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conducts process testing, trials, data collection and analysis to support continuous improvement.
- Support root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions to improve processes, work instructions, and process parameters.
- Provide hands-on technical support to production for troubleshooting process development and optimization.
- Apply mechanical design and drafting skills to design or modify tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Support equipment setup, basic programing, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Ensure equipment and tooling meet process and production requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation related to processes, validations, and changes.
- Provide technical guidance and training for operators and production personnel when needed.
Required
DEC (Quebec), Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Physics Engineering or equivalent field.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally <10%
Experience in manufacturing or process engineering environments.
Preferred
Experience with regulated manufacturing environments
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
Experience with SPC, or process capability analysis
1 or more years in manufacturing, process engineering or equivalent
Experience working in a hands-on, production or lab environment
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of process validation, test, and qualification methodologies
- Proficiency in mechanical design and drafting (SolidWorks)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork
Controlled Goods and Technology
A part of this position, you will be required to examine, handle, or transfer highly confidential equipment and technologies, including technical data or any technical assistance (such as instructions, training, etc.) classified as controlled goods. These goods have military or strategic significant, are critical to national security, and are strictly regulated under the Defence Production Act (DPA), and the Controlled Goods Regulations (CGR), as part of Canada’s Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

Liaisons
- Works closely with individuals representing Engineering, Production and Quality teams to support process activities, and/or representing outside the organization.
- Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data on matters of significant importance to the function of the department.
Health, Safety and Environment Requirements
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours at a time.
- Must be able to move throughout office and manufacturing environments.
- Must be able to lift up and carry up to 10 pounds, in accordance with lifting guidelines.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must have manual dexterity and coordination to operate office and technical equipment
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives and reassign priorities.
- Must be able to tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand French and English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and auditory cues, with specific visual requirements including close vision, peripheral vision, color recognition and focus adjustment
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
- Follow all environmental requirements consistently with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
- Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
Work environment is typically considered within a Molex location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and approved PPE is required when on the factory floor.
