UCT is looking for a talented Cleanroom Technician I to join us in Scarborough, ME!

The Assembly Technician I produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies. They prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic cleaning, processing, and handling of semiconductor components following standard work instructions
  • Execute tasks such as receiving, wiping, scrubbing, masking, and packaging of parts
  • Operate production equipment and tools in both wet processing and cleanroom environments
  • Follow strict contamination control and cleanroom protocols to maintain product quality
  • Read and follow work instructions, travelers, and specifications to ensure accuracy
  • Perform visual inspection and basic measurements to verify cleanliness and part condition
  • Support chemical processing activities under guidance (e.g., tank processing, rinsing, drying)
  • Accurately complete documentation and production records
  • Identify and report defects, contamination risks, or process issues
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 6S standards
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Maintain reliable attendance and support team production goals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized processes with consistency
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and contamination control
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with strict behavioral requirements
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort performing hands-on, repetitive tasks
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic production equipment
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in cleanroom, manufacturing, or processing environments
  • Exposure to chemical handling or part cleaning processes
  • Familiarity with inspection or quality processes

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 0–2 years of manufacturing, cleanroom, or related experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience considered
    Work Environment
    • Manufacturing and cleanroom environment supporting semiconductor component processing
    • Work performed in accordance with strict contamination control, safety, and quality standards
    • Team-oriented environment with defined workflows and production schedules

    Environmental Exposure
    • Required use of cleanroom garments and personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Exposure to chemical processing environments, including cleaning agents and wet benches
    • Moderate noise levels from production equipment
    • Exposure to controlled environments requiring strict contamination prevention practices
    • Work may involve repetitive tasks and production-driven pace

    Overnight Travel:

    Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
