Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Chemist to support federal and commercial environmental projects. This role focuses on environmental data validation, QA/QC processes, QAPP development, and analytical laboratory coordination, with minimal fieldwork.
This is a specialized, mid-level position and is not suited for entry-level candidates. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience working with environmental data, regulatory requirements, and laboratory coordination.
Responsibilities
• Perform environmental data validation (EPA Stage 2/3 or equivalent)• Develop and maintain QAPPs, Work Plans, and QA/QC documentation• Conduct QA/QC reviews of laboratory data (blanks, spikes, duplicates, qualifiers)• Coordinate with analytical laboratories on methods, detection limits, and data issues• Manage chain-of-custody, sample tracking, and lab deliverables• Support data management systems (e.g., EQuIS or similar)• Provide input on data quality, usability, and interpretation• Assist with technical reports, tables, and data summaries• Maintain compliance with regulatory and project requirements
Qualifications
Required:• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, or related field• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Environmental data validation, QAPP/QA/QC processes, Analytical laboratory coordination• Experience with environmental data systems (e.g., EQuIS or similar)• Strong knowledge of analytical methods and QA/QC standards• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred:• 5+ years of environmental consulting experience• DOE/DOD project experience; familiarity with CERCLA/RCRA• Experience with EQuIS or similar platforms• PFAS or emerging contaminant experience• GIS (ArcGIS) experience• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER• Master’s degree
