Responsibilities
Your Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Safety Engineer to drive risk reduction and strengthen safety performance at our Louisville Foil Plant, a large-scale manufacturing facility with over 700 employees across multiple production lines and processes.
This role is heavily focused on occupational safety and hazard control within a complex industrial environment that includes rolling mills, high-speed equipment, heat processes, and chemical exposure risks.
You will spend significant time on the production floor partnering with operations, maintenance, and leadership to identify hazards, prevent serious injuries, and build a proactive safety culture.

- Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts across key plant hazards (machine guarding, LOTO, heat, noise, combustible dust, chemical exposure)
- Conduct and lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, driving corrective actions to closure
- Perform and support risk assessments and hazard analyses to reduce high-potential events
- Influence and coach plant leadership and hourly workforce to improve safety behaviors and culture
- Partner with engineering and operations on capital projects, process changes, and safety design
- Maintain and improve EHS management systems and compliance programs (OSHA, EPA)
- Manage and utilize EHS systems (Gensuite) for tracking incidents, audits, and corrective actions
- Support industrial hygiene programs, safety training, and regulatory documentation
- Lead or participate in safety audits, inspections, and plant safety committees

Qualifications
We Need You to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education which has imparted the required knowledge.
- 3+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and risk assessment methods
- Experience with:
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Safety audits and inspections
- Employee engagement and training
Icing On the Cake:
- CSP or ASP certification (or actively working toward certification)
- Experience in heavy manufacturing environments (e.g., metals, converting, chemical, or high-speed production)
- Exposure to industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, or air permitting
- Experience using EHS management systems (e.g., Gensuite)
