Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our NSW/ACT Impact Assessment business group. This role can be based in Sydney, Canberra or any of our regional NSW offices, with flexibility to support the way you work best.
You’ll work alongside supportive technical directors and specialist teams, contributing to a broad range of multidisciplinary projects that help shape communities and deliver better environmental outcomes. You’ll support approval strategies and provide trusted advice to clients across major infrastructure, future energy, water, transport, resources and urban development projects.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, globally connected team where diverse perspectives are valued, and you’ll have access to leading technical specialists, designers and project delivery experts across Australia and the APAC region.
Working with an energetic, supportive and high-performing team, this role offers variety, connection and the opportunity to grow your impact through:
- Supporting environmental impact assessment and approvals processes on projects of various scales across NSW & ACT, including State Significant Infrastructure and Development
- Helping develop practical approvals strategies that balance regulatory requirements, project timelines and stakeholder expectations
- Collaborating with clients, project partners and regulators to provide clear advice on environmental risk, compliance pathways and project feasibility
- Sharing your knowledge through mentoring junior consultants and helping build capability across the team
What you will bring to the team:
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning or a related field
- Around 5–12 years of experience in an Environmental Impact Assessment or Approvals role from within a consulting or government setting, with scope to shape the position around your senior or intermediate level of experience
- A sound understanding of NSW, ACT and federal environmental approvals legislation
- Strong time and project management skills, with the confidence to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Clear communication skills, including writing, presenting and building trusted relationships with stakeholders
