Environmental Services Senior Project Manager or Director
What we are looking for
SCS is looking for a Senior Project Manager or Project Director to serve as a business leader for our Southwest Environmental Services (ES) team to expand our services and footprint. This position would be specifically related to practice areas including industrial compliance consulting, brownfields consulting, and possibly environmental due diligence. As a Senior Project Manager or Project Director, you will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities from current and new clients, as well as managing projects, developing proposals, leading teams, developing strategic approaches to deliver business value, and performing tasks related to growing our presence in primarily California, Arizona, Nevada, and other related markets. You will maintain client relationships and ensure that projects are completed and delivered with the purpose of meeting Clients' business objectives. Office accommodations allow for a hybrid of virtual and in-office work while based out of one of our Southwest ES offices in either San Diego, CA, Long Beach, CA, Pleasanton, CA, Tempe, Arizona, or Henderson, Nevada. You will report to the Southwest Environmental Services Leader.
How you can make an impact
The Senior Project Manager to Project Director professional will wear several hats, including project financial responsibility, help grow the ES Practice, and serve as a Seller-Doer that will contribute to our growth by:
- Growing/ expanding our industrial compliance practice area, with a background in services such as air permitting, industrial and RCRA compliance work, industrial stormwater compliance, and environmental compliance auditing and permitting.
- Brownfields and due diligence background requested including managing and executing environmental site assessments, soil, air, and groundwater assessment and remedial actions, and related environmental services with senior oversight.
- Lead or have an active role in client prospecting, and developing and executing client plans, business development/marketing plans, and key opportunity plans.
- Manage existing/future relationships with clients and establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Managing and being financially and technically responsible for projects.
- Project Management, including, but not limited to developing proposals, contracting, leading project teams, forecasting, invoicing, and accounts receivable management.
- Writing technical reports and related work products.
- Delivering professional services on time and without error in accordance with local and state regulations and within the planned level of project profitability.
- Evaluate and estimate future business and strategic plans to forecast assigned staff workloads and utilization.
- Communicating with clients, third party, and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules, and compliance issues.
- Oversee, manage, mentor, and develop lower-level staff to grow their knowledge and establish a career path.
- Assist other Project Managers or staff when additional support or technical expertise is needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Science required
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required. You must be well-versed in environmental regulations in industrial compliance and environmental assessment/remediation.
- CHMM Certification or professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) not required but preferred.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
