The School of Media and Communication is seeking Expressions of Interest for casual teaching opportunities in Music Industry for Semester 2, 2026.
If you are an experienced Music Industry academic with teaching experience, we are asking you to express your interest in these opportunities with the School of Media and Communication.
These roles involve teaching into courses in the Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry), the Approaches to Popular Culture minor, University-wide electives and/or School Options.
Duties include tutorial delivery, lecturing and assessment marking as appropriate in Semester 2, 2026.
Although our needs and vacancies change, there are opportunities that exist across our degree regularly. By submitting an application you will be included in a Talent Pool that will be reviewed from now and into the future, and may not guarantee a position.
About the Opportunity
The School of Media and Communication is seeking to recruit build a pool of experienced casual teachers to support teaching and assessment marking across Semester 2, 2026, in the Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry) degree Music Industry program.
This role may include tutorial delivery, lecturing and assessment marking as appropriate. You may be teaching at various academic levels, delivering curriculum content to students, managing assessments, responding to student queries, and attending relevant course meetings for planning and moderation.
Teaching roles also require commitment to periods of intensive marking.

PERF2064 Music: Performance and Production (first year)
PERF2066 Music: Global Perspectives (second year)
PERF2068 Music: Major Project (third year)
Approaches to Popular Culture minor:
COMM1081 Music in Pop Culture
COMM2874 Speculative Futures
University-wide electives / School Options:
PERF2061 DJs, Digital Rhythms and Dance
PERF2062 Music Video Culture
