Position Overview

Our healthcare client is seeking an experiencedEpic Certified Beaker Principal Trainer (PT)to support a large-scale Epic training initiative. This engagement will focus primarily on delivering instructor-led end-user training during an intensive classroom training period running from late August through October.

While there may be occasional Principal Trainer responsibilities such as curriculum updates, training material enhancements, and tip sheet creation, the primary focus of this role is hands-on classroom instruction and end-user readiness. The client is seeking highly professional trainers who excel at engaging learners, facilitating adoption, and ensuring successful knowledge transfer across laboratory and clinical operations teams.

The engagement begins in July with remote onboarding, credentialing, and project preparation activities before transitioning to onsite training support.

Contract Details

  • Approximately 8 weeks of onsite training delivery

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Epic Beaker end-user training in classroom and hands-on learning environments.
  • Facilitate engaging instructor-led training sessions for laboratory, clinical, and operational staff.
  • Provide workflow-based education and practical system instruction to support user readiness.
  • Support learner adoption and reinforce best practices related to Beaker workflows.
  • Answer participant questions and provide real-time guidance during training sessions.
  • Collaborate with project leadership, operational teams, and training teams to ensure successful training outcomes.
  • Participate in training preparation activities, including credentialing and onboarding requirements.
  • Modify existing curriculum materials and training documentation as needed.
  • Create and update tip sheets, quick reference guides, and supplemental learning materials.
  • Assist with training environment validation and classroom readiness activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Epic Certified Principal Trainer (PT) experience.
  • Epic Beaker certification, accreditation, or demonstrated Beaker training experience.
  • Experience delivering Epic classroom training to large groups of end users.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to train laboratory, clinical, and operational healthcare staff.
  • Experience supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, or large-scale training initiatives.
  • Ability to travel and work onsite throughout the training period.
  • Professional presence with strong customer-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) and/or Beaker Anatomic Pathology (AP) workflows.
  • Experience training across multiple Epic applications.
  • Previous experience supporting enterprise-wide Epic deployments.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and healthcare education best practices.
  • Experience developing or modifying Epic training curriculum and educational materials.
  • Experience creating workflow-based tip sheets and job aids.
