EPIC Senior Consultant / South Florida
Senior-level consultant responsible for leading the design, configuration, and optimization of complex Epic system workflows within healthcare environments. This role acts as a strategic and technical expert, translating business and clinical requirements into scalable system solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and improving operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
Work Location & Engagement Model
- Location: Candidates must be based in South Florida OR be willing to travel to the office twice per month.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (remote with periodic on-site presence).
- Contract Type: Independent Contractor (not a full-time employment relationship).
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end analysis, design, and configuration of advanced Epic workflows aligned with enterprise standards.
- Serve as application lead for medium to large-scale initiatives, including system upgrades, feature rollouts, and workflow redesign.
- Act as escalation point for complex technical issues, performing root cause analysis and resolution.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior consultants while ensuring high standards in documentation and testing.
- Design and manage advanced HIM and identity workflows, including MPI strategies and record matching.
- Lead integrations and system interfaces using APIs, HL7, and FHIR standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to data integrity, chart management, and release of information processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive data quality and system improvements.
Requirements
- 7–9 years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical systems, or related fields.
- Proven experience working with Epic systems, including configuration and optimization.
- Experience migrating from other EHR systems to Epic.
- Strong expertise in healthcare integrations (HL7, FHIR, APIs).
- Experience with HIM workflows and data governance.
- Epic certification in a relevant specialty (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
