Job Description\:

Your role of Combat System Equipment Maintainer at the Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC) at Portsdown Technology Park (PTP) undertakes preventative and corrective maintenance activities on a wide variety of multi-layered combat systems equipment including RADAR’s, sensors, electro-optical devices, associated ancillary equipment and data cabinets. Ensuring mandatory and statutory maintenance and electrical safety testing is planned and conducted in a timely manner, to an extremely high engineering standard whilst also keeping the service records up to date. The supporting infrastructure such as electrical distribution systems within server rooms and equipment racks form part of the plethora of equipment and services the Combat System Equipment Maintainer holds responsibility for.

Core duties\:

  • Accountable for guiding and completing preventative maintenance on Combat System Equipment, ensuring safety, compliance, and engineering standards are upheld — you will take care of and keep systems performing at their best.
  • Conduct Permit to Work (PTW) operations as an Authorised Person across RadHaz, laser safety, power distribution, and infrastructure — you will support safely and ensure full compliance.
  • Undertake installation and testing of Ethernet, fiber optic, and mains electrical cabling in line with 18th Edition and IET BS\:7671 — you will deliver high-quality work and produce accurate certification

Essential Skills\:

  • You will bring proficient knowledge and practical experience in maintaining Naval Combat Systems Equipment, applying your experience to keep critical systems operating reliably and efficiently
  • You will have an HNC or HND in a relevant engineering, technology, or science discipline, using your academic foundation to support high-quality engineering outcomes
