Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment Manager will provide maintenance and repair to all Golf Course and Landscape Maintenance equipment for Cabot Saint Lucia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program on all equipment.
  • Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in many types of equipment.
  • Performs mower grinding/sharpening, performs general overhaul of motors, reels, install and adjusts braking systems.
  • Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment.
  • Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus.
  • Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of mechanical repairs.
  • Diagnoses mechanical troubles and schedules appropriate preventative maintenance work.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Lead the preventive maintenance program for all golf course, and facility mechanical systems, including:
  • Turf and utility equipment
  • Drainage and dewatering pumps
  • Generator systems
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered equipment.
  • Perform and oversee reel grinding and cutting unit setup to exacting standards.
  • Supervise wash pad and shop maintenance; ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Train and instruct staff on the operation, care, and cleaning of equipment.
  • Manage equipment records, parts inventory, and repair documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Administrative Assistant to prepare and process invoices.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional association development.
  • Implements environmentally responsible maintenance practices in compliance with government regulations, including waste oil disposal, chemical storage, and stormwater management.
  • Experience supporting tournament-level conditions, including coordination with agronomy teams and external crews to maintain championship-ready standards.
  • Demonstrates ingenuity in fabrication, with the ability to engineer and modify parts or tools to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Integrates equipment management strategies with overall course conditioning objectives through regular communication with the Golf Course Superintendent and leadership team.

Experience and Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate degree in Auto Mechanics or suitable experience
