What You'll Be Doing
The Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Syndicate Analyst is an entry to intermediate level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds via the equity capital markets, through IPO, Follow-on, Convertible, and Private Placement offerings, in coordination with the Investment Banking division. The Syndicate Analyst will coordinate the sale and distribution of underwritten offerings across the various business functions of the Institutional Equities Group, including Sales, Trading and Research. In addition to capital raising exposure, responsibilities will also include advising on strategic assignments related to business development and data analytics for the ECM / Syndicate team. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our corporate and investor clients by facilitating capital formation in the equity market.
What We're Looking For
- Work with senior Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Syndicate team members in the origination and execution of equity capital markets transactions
- Work directly with internal partners (Investment Banking, Sales/Trading, Research, Risk, Legal, Operations) as well as external partners (Corporations, Investors, External Counsel) in the coordination and execution of a deal from launch to close
- Desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, trading floor environment with short deadlines and real-time market interaction
- Work closely with institutional investors & equity sales in the marketing of transactions, discussing rationales for investment, company valuation, deal structure and terms, and other relevant topics
- Collaborate with investment banking teams, equity traders, and equity sales personnel in targeting key investors, obtaining investor feedback, identifying appropriate valuation, and creating allocation strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with key institutional investors through regular in-person meetings and calls
- Produce market commentary for distribution to global corporate clients
- Prepare materials for pitches and live deals
- Conduct economic/financial research
- Evaluate company’s financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends
- Maintain ECM pipeline and reporting in Salesforce
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Stifel, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

- Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
Education & Experience
- Minimum required: 0-3 years of relevant experience in syndicate, capital markets, investment banking or sales and trading
Licenses & Credentials
- Minimum required: Series 7, 79 and 63 licenses (or ability to pass exams within 6 months of hire)

Compensation Range
Salary: USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $110,000.00/Yr. Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position. The base salary is one component of Stifel’s overall compensation package for each individual employee.
