Estimator
Job Status: Full Time Position. Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: In–Office Lakeland, FL.
Position Summary: Responsible for the review and analysis of material take-offs for all new master models and revised master model home plans to aid in cost savings. Works with Purchasing Department and field construction managers.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare material and labor budgets for new plans as well as make suggestions to increase our value engineering.
- Create and issue VPO's to vendors and modify existing budgets/take-offs.
- Review and validate take-offs and make necessary adjustments.
- Consult with vendors, personnel in construction departments or construction Superintendents to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Provide cost/benefit analysis for new and existing products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or Equivalent experience
- Must be able to perform consistent, accurate, and detail-oriented work.
- Must be able to critically think through workflow steps and the interrelation of workflow and impact to other team members.
- Ability to understand construction means and methods.
- Ability to read construction plans.
- Highly motivated

- Required:
- Intermediate computer skills - Microsoft Word and Excel
- Preferred:
- Minimum 1 year experience in the residential construction industry.
- Working knowledge of Planswift Software or similar construction take-off software.
- Working knowledge of RFMS Flooring or similar takeoff Software.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
- Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment.
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
