Events Officer
Job Description

6-12 Months Temporary role
Location, can be Derby, Bristol or London
About this role
This is a fixed-term opportunity to cover a period of maternity leave within the Events team. It offers meaningful exposure to a fast-paced, global events function at one of the world's most iconic engineering companies, with the potential to make a real impact from day one.
Role Purpose
The Events Officer plays a key role in the delivery of high-quality events across Rolls-Royce. Working as part of a global Events team in Group Communications, the Officer supports the end-to-end execution of external and internal events — helping to bring Rolls-Royce's corporate narrative to life and ensuring every event lands with impact, on time and on budget.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences. It offers the opportunity to work across business divisions, build relationships with senior stakeholders, and develop a broad understanding of strategic communications in a complex, global organisation.
What You Will Be Doing
Support Event Planning and Delivery
- Provide hands-on coordination support across the full lifecycle of events — from logistics planning and venue management to supplier liaison and on-site delivery.
- Assist in the management of event budgets, tracking expenditure and raising purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain and update the central events calendar, supporting the team to prioritise and plan effectively across a busy portfolio.
- Coordinate with internal teams & stakeholders — to ensure all event requirements are met.
Delegate and Stakeholder Experience
- Act as a key point of contact for event delegates and internal stakeholders, ensuring queries are handled professionally and promptly.
- Support the briefing and preparation of leaders and speakers ahead of events, working with Communications Business Partners to align on key messages.
- Champion the delegate experience at every touchpoint, ensuring all interactions reflect Rolls-Royce's values and high standards.
Content and Brand
- Ensure all event materials — including signage, presentations, and collateral — are consistent with Rolls-Royce's visual identity guidelines.
- Coordinate with the Content and Channels team to support event amplification through social media, internal channels, and media coverage.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Track event performance against agreed metrics, including attendance, delegate feedback, and post-event coverage.
- Compile evaluation reports and share insights to support a culture of data-led improvement across the Events function.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of team tools, processes, and ways of working as the function continues to grow.
