Are you passionate about safeguarding complex industrial environments where explosive atmospheres are a daily reality? Do you thrive on applying deep technical expertise to enable safe innovation?

At DNV Product Assurance, we certify the equipment that keeps critical industries operating safely—across hydrogen production, oil & gas, renewables, mining, process industries and environments with explosive dust. Our work gives customers the confidence and “license to operate” in some of the world’s most demanding environments.

With a strong and growing team primarily based in Oslo, and access to our accredited test facility—we’re seeking a HAZLOC (Ex) Engineer to join our growing team of specialists.

What You’ll Do

Join our HAZLOC (Ex) team and play a vital role in shaping the safety and reliability of equipment used in hazardous environments worldwide. You’ll work with globally recognized certification schemes such as ATEX, IECEx, UKEX, INMETRO, and IEC/EN/ISO standards—contributing directly to safer industries and a more sustainable future.

For candidates from Europe: We are open to other locations within Germany, Italy or United Kingdom.

For candidates outside of Europe: We are open to candidates willing to relocate to Oslo.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead type and design examinations of equipment used in explosive (Ex) environments
  • Carry out in-depth technical assessments and documentation reviews to ensure compliance
  • Perform and support testing activities in our state-of-the-art accredited test facility
  • Travel to customer sites to witness tests and conduct audits at manufacturing facilities
