Executive Director, Senior Lead Financial Accountant

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director, Senior Lead Financial Accountant so support Regulatory Interpretations & Reporting. This senior individual contributor is responsible for the interpretation, governance, and execution of broker-dealer regulatory reporting. This role acts as a key subject matter expert, translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance while driving consistency, accuracy, and timely compliance across the organization. Partners closely with Finance, Risk, Treasury, and business stakeholders to align on reporting treatment and strengthen the control environment.


In this role, you will:

  • Own regulatory interpretation framework: Provide authoritative guidance on regulatory reporting rules and capital requirements, resolving complex interpretive issues

  • Oversee regulatory reporting execution: Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of filings to regulatory agencies (e.g., FINRA, SEC)

  • Drive consistency and governance: Establish standardized policies, controls, and processes across reports and business lines

  • Partner cross-functionally: Align Finance, Risk, Treasury, and business stakeholders on reporting treatment and data requirements

  • Enhance control environment: Strengthen data lineage, documentation, and audit readiness for regulatory submissions

  • Lead regulatory engagement & advocacy: Interface with regulators and influence interpretation of evolving rules

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in SEC and FINRA broker-dealer regulatory reporting, including capital and FOCUS reporting

  • Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, actionable reporting guidance

  • Strong experience in influencing senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, and Treasury without direct authority

  • Background in data governance, data lineage, and regulatory reporting infrastructure

  • Experience enhancing controls, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance frameworks

  • Demonstrated involvement in regulatory exams, inquiries, or remediation efforts

  • Ability to drive consistency and standardization across reporting processes and business lines

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving ambiguous interpretive issues

Job Expectations:

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$191,000.00 - $305,000.00
