Executive General Adjuster – MCLPRIMARY PURPOSE: Reporting to the Vice President, Major Complex Loss / Forensic Advisory Services, the adjuster is responsible for providing a consistently high level of service by investigating insurance major loss claims for insurers or third parties, and negotiating settlement of the claims to the satisfaction of all parties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages assigned claims while meeting company standards and quality, including conducting thorough investigations; determining coverage and validity of claims, interviewing and communicating with insured, claimants and witnesses; inspecting claims sites, preparing reports and negotiating settlements
· Maintains accurate records based on company standards and procedures, using company custom computer systems
· Accurately and efficiently manages the billing for assigned files, within specified timelines
· Assists with collection of accounts receivables for assigned claims
· Assists with local marketing of the branch, attends professional and social events, and develops new business
· Maintains an excellent working relationship with existing clients to further develop business
· Requires a high level of mathematical and reasoning ability to calculate and analyse data to arrive at a logical conclusion.
· A high level of dexterity to use tools and climb ladders
· The ability to cope with extreme weather, environmental and driving conditions at any time of day or night.
· Committed to continuous education to keep up-to-date with all industry and legislative issues and
changes.
· Assists with local marketing of the branch; attends professional and social events and develops new business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Licensing
· Post-secondary education; insurance related
· CIP Designation or equivalent
· Must be licensed or have the ability to obtain a provisional license
Experience
· Minimum 15 years adjusting experience with a minimum of three years adjusting primarily commercial losses, but may include some large/complex personal lines losses
Skills & Knowledge
· Strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills
· PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
· Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting
· Strong customer service skills
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Good time management and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently or in a team environment
· Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
· Must demonstrate the ability to market services directly to insurers and brokers
· Must demonstrate superior ability to examine and correctly interpret complex coverage conditions and exclusions
· Must exhibit superior report writing ability and must be able to design and manipulate spreadsheets for the analysis of data
· Must demonstrate superior ability in directing consultants including lawyers, forensic accountants, engineers, scientists, quantity surveyors

Salary Range: 101,770.00 - 132,301.00 - 162,832.00 CAD Annual full-time
This position is full time ,and compensation is salaried.
Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Sedgwick is committed to transparent and equitable pay practices.
