A Brooklyn hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for Critical Care ICU, Stepdown/CPCU (Cardiopulmonary Progressive Care Unit), Telemetry, and Emergency Department positions.
Position Overview
Provide direct nursing care to patients with critical illnesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with critical illnesses, cardiac conditions, respiratory disorders, trauma, acute medical emergencies, and post-operative complications.
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient conditions, including those requiring cardiac monitoring and intensive care interventions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and improve patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Accurately document patient care using electronic medical records (EPIC/Allscripts).
Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN highly preferred)
- ICU: 1–2 years of Critical Care/ICU experience required
- Stepdown/CPCU, Telemetry & ED: Minimum 1 year of acute care experience in ICU, Telemetry, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical, or Stepdown units
- Current BCLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong written, verbal, and computer skills
- Experience with EPIC, Allscripts, and Microsoft Excel preferred
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
