Export Business Development

The candidate is tasked with expanding a company's market presence across multiple territories that requires a focus on cross-border growth strategies, distributor management, and navigating international trade practices.

Regional Job Scope
Strategic growth and managing business entities across different geographic markets.

  • Regional Growth Strategy: Developing and executing roadmaps (often 1–2 years) to increase revenue and market share in specific international territories.

  • Territory & Pipeline Management: Identifying new business opportunities across assigned regions and maintaining a robust sales pipeline of qualified prospects.

  • Channel & Distributor Management: Establishing and managing overseas distribution channels and regional partnerships, including monitoring their performance and execution.

  • Strategic Account Development: Managing high-value regional accounts by understanding complex needs and recommending technical fastener solutions (e.g., PEM fasteners).

  • Market Intelligence: Conducting regional research to stay updated on market shifts, competitor pricing, and regulatory changes in different countries.

  • On-the-Ground Presence: Frequent international travel to support local market, conduct training workshops, conduct face-to-face client reviews and organize/attend regional trade shows.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with marketing, technical and supply chain teams to act on leads.

  • Data Maintenance: Updating CRM systems (e.g. Asana, Pipedrive, Salesforce) to track sales goals, business trends, and client interactions.

Job Requirements

  • Experience:

    • Requires at least 2 years’ experience in business development or sales, ideally within fasteners, engineering, or industrial manufacturing.

    • Specific expertise in solution sales and a proven track record of meeting regional KPIs.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering. Diploma holder with relevant experience is welcome.

  • Cross-Border Competence:

    • Mobility: A valid passport and willingness to travel frequently (often 40% or more, as required by business needs).

    • Languages: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional regional languages (e.g., Mandarin) is often a strong asset for managing overseas stakeholders.

    • Cultural Awareness: Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and navigate different international business etiquettes.

  • Technical & Soft Skills:

    • Expertise in CRM systems like Pipedrive, Salesforce or D365 to manage complex regional sales data.

    • Strong negotiation and presentation skills to engage with "C-level" management and large corporate partners.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across different time zones.

Other Information:

  • Location: Woodlands Close (Singapore - Near Admiralty MRT)
  • 5 days of Work (Monday – Friday 9 am to 6 pm)
  • Salary Range: SGD3,400 to SGD5,000
