External Quality Assurer for Sport, Exercise and Fitness

Location: Home based

Hours per week: 18.5 to be worked Monday to Friday within normal business hours

Salary: Up to £17,583 (FTE: £35,166) depending on experience

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced External Quality Assurer (EQA) to support the delivery and quality assurance of sport, active leisure and uniformed services vocational qualifications across our approved centres.

This role focuses on education quality assurance, assessment standards, and regulatory compliance within sport-related training provision.

You’ll work with training providers, colleges, and centres delivering sport and fitness qualifications, ensuring high standards of assessment, internal quality assurance (IQA), and learner outcomes.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Conducting external quality assurance (EQA) activities across allocated centres
  • Monitoring assessment practice, internal quality assurance (IQA), and learner outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with NCFE requirements, regulatory standards, and qualification frameworks
  • Analysing centre performance data to assess risk, quality, and compliance
  • Producing detailed quality assurance reports within SLA timelines
  • Supporting centres with improvement planning, standardisation, and best practice

We’d love to hear from you if you offer the following:

  • Experience in external quality assurance (EQA), internal quality assurance (IQA), or assessment within sport or active leisure qualifications
  • A recognised assessor and IQA qualification
  • Experience working with vocational sport or fitness qualifications in a college, training provider, or awarding organisation environment
  • Knowledge of assessment standards, regulatory compliance, and awarding organisation requirements
