Extrusion Crew Member

The Extrusion Crew Member performs assigned job duties under the direction of the Extrusion Operator Team Leader and Department Supervision to ensure production and quality standards are met for sidewall, tread, shoulder pad, innerliner, squeegee, belt edge, and gum components.

This role requires operating assigned equipment (Book, Mills, Extruders, Calendars, Relief, and Utility functions) to support efficient equipment performance. The Crew Member is also responsible for providing relief support to other crew members as needed, as well as packaging identification, storage of extruded components, and proper material handling related to assigned tasks.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Coordinate and assist the operator and other crew members to ensure proper setup and production of quality products
  • Operate and monitor online and offline quality systems to ensure components meet required specifications
  • Efficiently utilize equipment while meeting customer requirements and tight tolerance standards
  • Read, interpret, and follow Machine Set-Up Specifications (MSS)
  • Check, transport, and ensure availability of supplies and utility services required for extrusion and calendaring processes
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI), plant safety policies, environmental policies, and company policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards
  • Apply problem-solving skills to address machine or process issues as they arise
  • Read specifications and use hand tools and measuring/gauging devices to monitor product quality
  • Accurately record time worked, including operation numbers, rates, and units produced or cured

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Successful completion of Work Keys Assessment (SILVER)
  • Ability to lead and promote teamwork in a production environment
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must be willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
